Shop Shop shop…

Made a trip to Bugis today, with an intention to buy covered shoes for my everyday lab work but also bought a top by-the-way. :)

DSC07969

A very simple and plain covered shoes and a top. Shoes cost me $19.90 and the top is $10. Cheap!

I’ve been looking out for shoes that do not cause bruises and pain on my feet. This pair of shoes definitely save me from the torturing :D The material is soft.

Cinnamon oatmeal cookies

Have nothing better to do in the early afternoon and then, having a sudden mood to bake something. ^^

All-purpose flour, cinnamon, oat are the most essential and basic stuffs which I had found in my kitchen.

Tada! Yummy, healthy and crispy cinnamon oatmeal cookies served as my lunch or so-called high tea. The proportion of the ingredients are added in ‘a-garation’, which means that experience is required  in order to bake something without following the recipe. Sounding very ‘Hao-lian’ hor. Haha.

Counting down 1 more month to Popo‘s birthday,  my family is anticipating to this joyful event! I’ll be making my trip back to Ipoh again on 30 Sept, Wed for my 1st tightening of braces. This time round will be different, I’ll be coming back Singapore with a big gang of my grandma, aunts and cousins! 10+ people including me!

Well, bon voyage to me on Wed. :)

Bling Bling!

There is a sudden craze on pimping crystals on my gadgets lately to make them look BLING BLING! Hee :D

My art piecesDSC07963

My D-cam, cam cover and my mum’s phone.

This is my 1st attempt on zhng-ing these gadgets. I know that my work is not up to standard, but you’ll wait and see! ^^

I did not put those crystals on my phone coz I’m going to change a new phone soon! *my contract ending on Dec.

I’m considering Samsung Preston since it is quite affordable and looks stylish. My mum wanted me to buy a phone without signing a new contract as she wishes me to use her number which means my line will be terminated. :(
The reason is my mum’s current plan costs her SGD6++ per month as compared to mine, which is around SGD30++. My mum doesn’t really use her phone which she thinks that phone bill will be greatly reduced if I used her number while she’ll buy a prepaid card to use.

I can’t afford new phone which I hope to get grab hold- Samsung Omnia 2 which is very chio lor.  It is nearly 1K if  I am getting it with no contract. Haiz… The saddest part is that I do not have any re-contracted phone that is more than SGD50 before.  :( :( :(

Ya, I’ll get Samsung Preston in snow white most likely and I’m gonna pimp it with bling bling which will shine you to blind! Haha.

Braces on!

Finally had my braces on after years of pending and yearning for it! *winks* ;D

After a heavy lunch with popo and yeen yi at a cafe in Pengkalan, yeen yi drove me to the dental clinic which I made my own way up to see the orthodontist.

Firstly, the orthodontist helped to clean up my teeth and proceed on to filing one teeth of the lower jaw.  Next, cemented brackets are placed one by one onto each tooth and blue light (UV?) giving off certain heat helped to align the brackets in place. Lastly, arched wires were placed in between spaces of brackets and ligatures helped to hold the brackes and wire in place. The process was quite pain-free on that day.

The orthodontist asked me to come back the next day again for the tightening of the back teeth. That process was extremely painful! :(   My teeth were numb and painful when I forced myself to have a bite off something.

Tofu and other soft and mashy food are the only edible food source for the next few days after braces were placed on.

Definitely, the whole process is worthwhile when I see myself having nice and straightened teeth in 1 and a half years time. haha :D

Endurance

Finally back from 3 days trip to Ipoh to get the initial procedure completed before getting braces. ^^

On the first day of arrival, Munyee and Cheng yee fetched me from Sri Maju terminal bus station. Thanks babes!
We went straight back to their house and chit-chat for more than half an hour before making our way to newly relocated Foh-San.

We reached Foh-san at 6 pm, but a security standing at the doorstep refrained us from entering as business starts at 6.30pm. Gosh, they’re getting very lazy. We waited for 20 mins outside the main entrance. :(

All of us had quite a heavy breakfast. Overall, the food taste the same as before (or a little worse?) , the only change is the ambience. Ya, nothing special.

Getting straight to the main aim of going to Ipoh, Munyee and Chengyee brought me to the Hu X-ray located nearby their house in the afternoon. Seriously, there was 1 thing which I couldn’t stand when I visited that place  on that day was the attitude of a receptionist at the counter. She was a braggart and pompous late 20s or early 30s lady who kept bragging in English. Initially, we went there without a medical letter and she wouldn’t accept our request for doing X-ray for my teeth.

WTH? If you use your brain you will know that people in their line, handling tons and tons of such X-ray,  will definitely be familiarized with the procedures that had to be done.  My cousin did her X-ray without giving the medical letter before! Damn sickening.

Very bu shuang, we made our way to the dental clinic at Pengakalan and obtained the medical letter from the orthodontist before getting back again to that X-ray specialized clinic.

Once again, that braggart served us and requested for my I.C. She wrote down my particulars and of cos, my I.C is written with ‘Republic of Singapore’. There she went, speaking to me in English, showing off how excellent and fluent  her English is . Please lor, she asked me whether I know how to speak Cantonese and I replied her a ‘Yes’. Just can’t she spoke to me in Cantonese?

Anyway, I just found her verbose. M-i-s-s   B-o-m-b-a-s-t-i-c. :(

We left that dreadful place and went back to the dental clinic. That clinic is a very ‘U-lu’ and had to go up a narrow staircase. The first impression when I went up was, “wow, is that a dental clinic?”

What welcomed us was a little window, desk and a few chairs. Out of nowhere, a lady popped her head out of that little window and asked for my purspose of visit. Very very heng, there was no patients/visitors at that time, and I got my chance to get in ASAP.

Initially, I thought that the lady who received me is the orthodontist. She told me to lie down on the dental chairs and wait. Not long, a guy walked out from another corner of the clinic and he was wearing casual clothes. Another surprise, a doctor don’t really look like a doctor.

I gave him the X-ray which I had taken and he explained to me briefly what kind of treatment and result I should received upon wearing braces. I was told that my upper and lower jaw seem to be more protruded than the others which make my mouth looks like fish. Sounds funny, but that’s how ugly my teeth are.

I had to extract out the 1st or 2nd premolar. Extracting the 1st premolar (bigger in size) will cause a big gap in my mouth when I smiled but it is a faster treatment as compared to extractin 2nd premolar. There is also a bigger room for pushing the teeth much inwards for extraction of 1st premolar.

In the end, I chose the extraction of my 2nd premolar as I do not want to smile like a shit!

The orthodontist swabbed some pinkish substances on my teeth to numb it a little. Next, the scary part was the injection anesthesia into my gum to fully numb my gum. I was freaking painful when he injected the needle right into my gum!~

I was told to wait for the effect of the anesthesia to take place. After 5 mins, I was called back in again and horrendous tools were awaiting my teeth.

The orthodontist tested my nervous feeling by pricking the needle into my gum, $%#@%(*.

There was pain! He continued replenished with more and more anesthesia. Super duper crazy lor!

Next, was the final extraction. He began using scary tools to pull out my teeth. With great force, he twisted and pulled with strength that was strong enough to move the whole dental chair. No bragging!

With all his might, my obstinate tooth was finally  plucked out. It was indeed a bloody huge tooth! Yikes!

After the extraction, I was told to come again for another extraction of tooth. Poor me! That’s the sacrifice for beauty.

The history repeated again. Separators were inserted in between my teeth on my lower teeth. What I could describe about the separators stucked in between my teeth is S-O-R-E!

My next appointment is this coming Fri and I’m totally excited about it cos braces will be placed in. Oh ya, filing will be done also in the coming appointment. Endure endure endure~

BFF

Finally ‘long time no see’ pangsehs gang got to meet for a dinner! YipEEeee!

Very ecstatic as I did not see Kaixin for around 2 years le. A very very very long time. Haha :D

She has been very busy since after she went in to JC.

Can’t really describe it when we see each other. Ya, that was SO RANDOM! :)

We went to Lot1 Ajisan Ramen for dinner, felt quite full after that bowl of char siew ramen. Nevetheless, It’s yummy!
Next stop after the main course, we went to Mc’d for dessert.
We shared our school life experience and talked about the past that we had been through together. Bringing back  the reminiscence and a feeling of nostalgia. Just wished that the time machine will bring us back to the days in Sec school, which all of us wearing the same uniform and sharing the same experience in school.

3 and 9 months had passed since all of us stepped into different pathways, pursuing our goals in life.
We must admit that time really passes very fast which left no time for us to grab hold of every seconds. A few more months, most of us will be graduating from college, moving to the new chapter in our life.

Learn to cherish everybody in our life, no regrets. :)

Anyway, I’m going back to Ipoh for my 1st dental checkup tomorrow. Damn jubilant! Just wish that the orthodontist will be an angel! No extraction pls! I hate pain!

Haha. Wish me good luck! ^^

Finally…

YEeeepi! Finally, the exam was over! I’m quite confident that this semester exam I can do lots better than the previous semester. * winks* ;)

Sadly, I still have to go back to school on Mon to do my project. :(

Alright, forget about the melancholy stuff.

When exam had ended, I made my trip to orchard road to shop and relieve myself after weeks of stressful exam.
My first visit was Far East Plaza.  Since I went there very early, most of the shops were not open. Nothing bettter to shop there, ION was my next destination.

Most of the shops at ION are selling branded stuffs which don’t sound very appealing to a poor student like me. I made my way straight to the basement for FOOD! ;) Yummy!

ION is beside famous for brand stuffs and nice structured building, it is also renowned (all right, only in S’pore) for selling Jap food. Freakingly captivated me :)

I walked round and round the basement uncertain of what to eat coz I was spoilt for choice. hee. :D

And Yes, these cute round little balls (pls don’t think from the wrong side) will be in my stomach!

takoyaki

*TAKOYAKI!*

This is suprisingly delicious! It was a bit crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Red ginger, spring onion and a little bits of garlic (If I’m not wrong) were stuffed inside this golden brown outering to enhance its flavour. Besides, the tako (octopus) embedded inside is very fresh which went like ‘ Doi Doi’ ( a bit crunchy due to its freshness).

It cost me $4.80, minimum 6 pieces for ala carte. If you want a set, it comes with a macha drink which I’m not very sure about the cost. During the weekends, the queue is quite long. If you want to get something nice, waiting for a few minutes is quite worthwhile.

Right after this meal, I walked to Takashimaya and later to Cineleisure.

It was kinda boring and went home after that.  ^o^

Eh… counting down 6 more days before going to Ipoh. Hope that day will arrive soon!

It’ll be the last

Tomorrow is the last paper for this semester exam. :) So happy! Cos I will not be going to take any exam in future esp. Science-related.

It sounds so retard when you choose the course that you’re not interested in. Ya, that’s for my case.
I was too impulsive at the time when I had to select the courses for my further studies after  O’level.

The first choice which I had chosen for my poly entry was biomedical science :P My cut-off point enabled me to get into almost all of the course in poly, but I had chosen this boring course as the 1st choice (to me lah, not pointing against science freaks).  This module is drilling my brain mad and it’s totally based on memorizing stuffs.

My interest is actually arts-related. Initially, I wanted to get into NAFA but the school fees is like $$$$$. :(
I was so annoyed and self-reproached when I did not know that government started to subsidized the school fees for NAPA at the same year which was  similarly applied to poly long ago. (It’s like What-the-fish?! So dumb of me not to check carefully! )

Ya lah, just can only blame myself.  :(

After tomorrow, I’m gonna break free from the stressful exam karma. :)

Good luck to me :D

Will be having Genomics test  tomorrow, spending my whole afternoon studying.

Been very tired after the long hours of staring at my lecture notes.

Ends here. Just wish me good luck for my exam!

A-new-start-again

I’ve been counting how many blogs I’ve closed down.
From blogspot to xanga, then from xanga to blogspot. Now, I’ve my fourth blog revamping at wordpress. :)

Okies, you all may think that I’m a little siao (crazy),  for ‘what-the-hell’  do I need to own that many blogs.
Seriously, it’s not my fault (ok, partially my fault lah).

Blogspot is  the first blog website that I’ve created in hmm.. 2005 or 2006? Aiyah,  can’t remember the exact year.
At that time, blogging is such a popular trend which seems like I’m a bit ‘out ‘ if I don’t have a blog right?

Of course, I created the blog for fun my passion in reading and writing, but just neglecting it and so the story went on…..

Next, xanga- my second blog. I had serious problem in displaying the pictures under my blog, which I had to undergo this  ‘right-click’ and ‘show picture’ processes for most of my pictures to be reviewable. Ya, closed down again.

Back to blogspot again, everything went on smoothly and I’m quite enthusiatic in blogging at that time. A few months later, I can’t upload any pictures for this blog. As expected, dumped it :(

Now, I’m back blogging again and hopefully everything goes well at wordpress.

Ok, stop complaining about the previous blogs.

I’ll be having my genomics test in 2 days time. Been quite slack-y this few days even though  now is the exam period.
Aiyah…. this is gonna be the last exam in my polytechnic school life, must slack a bit de.

The subsequent day will be having my MBDS exam, and proteomic will be the last paper on Friday. Just hope that all these dreadful days will just go away. The exams that I had taken in this many years of my life are making me having exam phobia. :(

Besides, even though FYP has ended, but i’m not getting any holidays after the exam (which majority of my friends are going to have holidays). Eh… disappointed.

But 1 thing that gonna cheer me up is that I’m going back to Ipoh to get BRACES in early to mid Sept! Total excitement :)
I’ve been yearning for it since after my permanent teeth have grown.

”Why must people kick up a fuss over their teeth? They look ok to me and they’re unique to you cos  most people have straightened teeth”. These are the words which I’ve heard the most when I said I wanna get braces.

And yes, when people around you ( esp. my cousins) are having nice and straightened teeth, you’ll tend to lose confidence in the way you look right? You wouldn’t want to open up your mouth and smile widely with those fugly crooked teeth. Right?

Besides, the arrangement of your teeth is correlate with the structure of your jaw. Braces, god’s gift to human helps to correct your jaw and most significantly,  creates an impact on your facial structure (jaw bone) in a positive manner.

4 of my cousins had braces on before, and their results proved those people saying that braces are not necessary wrong.

Oh well, how to describe my teeth arrangement.
Hmm… problem lies with my upper teeth. 2 Canines (Cusipids) are squeezed inwards, being blocked by central incisors while the central incisor pushed their way outwards. Ya, damn ugly protruding teeth and what I called in chinese is 爆牙!Similarly to 爆牙珍 in Stephen Chow’s movie, ” GongFu Hustle”, but not as ugly as hers lah.

My beautiful cousins with nice and straightened teeth

chengyee and appleCheng Yee and Apple

Cheng yee had braces before and she had it removed a few months ago. Now, she had a nice smile =D
Apple has the most natural smile in my family and her teeth look just the way they are since they had grown after the changing of baby teeth. Loves her teeth~ White and straight!

As you can see, both of them are pretty and also my best cousins ever.

chengyee, wanyi and munyee

Beautiful  Mother and daughters- Chengyee, wanyi and munyee

That was Chengyee with her braces on in Oct 2008. She definitely looks gorgeous with her smile showing her teeth even braces are placed on. :)

Munyee, me and chee jie Sexy munyee, me and gentle Val sis

Val sis is another beauty in my family and she also had braces on around the same time as Chengyee.
Indeed, nice smile :D

And ya, the one in the middle of the picture is me with that crooked smile + teeth. I’ve intentionally chose a- not- so fugly picture. Your verdict?

Btw, Munyee also has a nice set of teeth and that’s her way of taking pictures.

Low's family   Low’s family- Raymond, Apple, Fook yeejiong and Wai Zai

The Low’s brother, Raymond and Wai Zai had braces before. Just look, their smiles are so niceeeee~
Ok lah, you can’t see Wai Zai’s smile, he very seldom smiles with his teeth shown. Let me find one picture of him smiling with his bright teeth that will shine you all to blindness. Hahas~

happy familyMy cousins!

Haha. Finally, I’ve found 1 of the photo which has Wai Zai smiling with his mouth opened. ( Far left)
You can’t evade from me. Hees~
Yeaps, quite handsome right? ;)

All right, quite a long entry for my 1st post. Needa take a rest.
Wish me good luck for my braces journey ^^
